After a month in the hellhole called Facebook, I finally got started with this new website.
I’ve been moving to a new web host and it’s been nightmarish, so incredibly slow. And I am using the EXTRA theme by Elegant Themes (Divi) for the first time. The company that created the theme I had used for many years went out of business and now I get to learn the new EXTRA theme.
My internet connection is super slow and I’m paying $129/month. They tell me it’s “Covid congestion” and to work at 3 am when most people sleep.
In March I gave Musk $99 for his Starlink satellite internet service, but just as in March, it still says it will be available middle to late this year. It’s August. And I saw on FB in March that others in my community love the super-fast connections. I spent over an hour today trying to find ANY contact info for Starlink so I could find out what’s going on. Found nothing. Musk can stick his Teslas where the sun don’t shine.
And same with T-Mobile. They sent everybody in Meadview a giant postcard for internet service months ago. It was a cruel joke. I call occasionally, talk to CSRs who couldn’t possibly care less and know nothing, except that their internet service does not yet exist here.
I am NOT unemployed.
I run two businesses, a not yet income-producing organic permaculture micro-farm and to actually make a living I manage a vacation rental.
The DES has a listing of all my 2019 Airbnb bookings. I used to host 1 and 2-nighters and most guests flew in from another country (primarily Asia and Europe) to walk on the Skywalk at Grand Canyon West.
I believe state law now requires a minimum 2-night stay. More important, to comply with the Airbnb sanitizing requirements, I had to run the dishwasher for over 40 hours! Totally insane. You can’t rent a house while you’re running the dishwasher and even I have to sleep.
MOST important, tourists can’t even come into the US!
I’ve cultivated boating business from Southern California. And then the South Cove boat launch closed in June and both my July 4th boater bookings were canceled.
And so it goes. No matter what I do, no matter how hard I work for so little, I’m screwed again.
So I bought an external monitor for the rental so that I could work there, as the internet is a lot faster, but now the A/C broke. And while I bought insurance through American Home Shield, they’ve ignored the two service requests I submitted since Sunday. I’m lucky I didn’t have guests and my next booking is in February 2022, with a 90% chance of canceling.
I’m used to live with only USB fans at home and it’s usually around 85 F, but almost 100 F at the rental is just too hot.
So if anyone here has research, Divi or legal skills — it’ll be a long time to get the lawsuit ready if I have to do EVERYTHING myself.
I’m currently reposting the important info from the FB group at
https://www.facebook.com/groups/arizonaunemploymentlitigation/
I’ll be listing every contact for assistance (over 20) and the results, mostly being ignored. I’ll email the link to their posts here to the lawyers who ignored me. A listing of all those contacts needs to be included with the lawsuit to document what a horrific state Arizona is.
And I’m trying to set up this site. With my internet so slow, I sometimes forget what I’m looking for by the time a page loads.
I could file a lawsuit with only my name on it or we can file without an attorney as individual plaintiffs in one suit.
Don Quixotic.
Only attorneys can file a class action.
“Something” needs to be filed soon.
Haven’t even gotten my $117 state benefit in about a month now. Got good reason to sue.
I thought about asking for $5 million to set up a nonprofit to assist Arizona residents, help people get the benefits they’re entitled to. As my efforts to find a lawyer document, there is NO help in Arizona for the unemployed!
I’m sure that THOUSANDS gave up on unemployment because it’s such a shitshow. They all deserve back pay and DAMAGES for costs such as late fees, stress, mental anguish, etc.
- I need all the filings and rulings from the other states with decided and pending suits for the federal benefits.
- I need at least one Arizona lawsuit against the DES / state by an individual for claims not related to the federal benefit.
And my internet is so slow …
